Documents needed in order to sign up

To sign up to be a Gopuff Delivery Partner, you’ll need the following documents:

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license*

  • Vehicle or Car insurance in your name*

  • In some locations, you may be asked for Vehicle Registration, Inspection or other documents.

*Those who are delivering by bike are not required to have a driver's license or vehicle insurance, but they will be required to provide a valid US Government ID.

Driver's License and ID FAQs

We accept any US-based identification card or driver’s license issued by federal, state or local government agencies or entities. Please make sure the ID or driver’s license is not expired at the time of submitting your application. An identification card, rather than a driver’s license, is accepted only for partners who will be delivering by bicycle.

Before submitting a photo of your driver’s license or ID card, make sure the following are true:

  • The picture is not blurry

  • The lighting in the picture is not dark

  • All 4 corners of the ID are visible

  • All details and writing of the ID are visible

Car insurance FAQs

  • Your Name (either as policy holder or authorized driver)

  • Effective/Expiration Date (It can’t be expired)

  • Vehicle Information (make, model, VIN)

  • Car insurance Policy information (car insurance company name, policy number, etc.)

  • The picture is not blurry

  • The lighting in the picture is not dark

  • All details and the text are visible

We accept car insurance cards, proof of payment of the policy term, car insurance declarations page, or screenshots of the car insurance information directly from the app. 

No, you can be listed as a secondary insured or as an authorized driver (i.e. on parents’ policy). However, you must provide a document that shows you are listed as an insured driver, such as a declarations page.

Vehicle Inspection and Registration

In certain states, all vehicles must have a safety inspection and display an inspection sticker in order to be registered or renew their registration. If your Gopuff delivery location requires these documents, you will need to submit the following: 

  • Vehicle Inspection Certificate

  • Vehicle Registration Document

We require an inspection certificate to include the full vehicle details. The certified vehicle shall match the vehicle on the submitted insurance documents. The inspection certificate must also show a pass or “OK” on the safety inspection. We cannot accept any inspection certificates that show any repairs or re-inspected needs. For more details refer to your local DMV and look for the Safety Inspection portion of the registration process. (e.g. Virginia DMV Website)

Using Digital IDs to Sign Up for Gopuff

A digital ID is an electronic representation of personally identifying information that may be used to verify a customer’s identity. A mobile driver's license is a type of digital ID, similar to a credit card holder having their card stored in a digital wallet.

Gopuff only accepts digital IDs in the following states: Arizona, Maryland, Colorado, Oklahoma, Utah, Delaware, Mississippi, Missouri, Louisiana, Iowa, Georgia, and Florida.

Documents Gopuff does NOT accept

Gopuff does not accept the following identification documents: 

  • Temporary IDs or driver’s licenses (e.g. Paper)

  • Restricted driver’s licenses (e.g. Learner’s Permit or Interlock license)

  • PDF Files 

  • Non-US passports

  • Photocopies of IDs

  • Damaged ID or driver’s licenses

***Gopuff does not accept self-insured documents, rental car insurance, business insurance, foreign insurance, or any type of insurance that is not vehicle insurance.

Documents needed if delivering by bicycle

If your declared method of delivery is a bicycle, you will only need to provide a valid U.S. Government issued ID. You will not need to provide car insurance. Regardless of Gopuff’s onboarding requirements, if you are using an E-Bike, check for local regulations.

Documents needed if delivering by Motorcycle or Moped

Gopuff policy considers mopeds, motorcycles, and scooters as vehicles. In order to use a moped, scooter, or motorcycle as your mode of transportation for deliveries, we require a valid driver’s license as well as proof of vehicle insurance. 

Each state's requirements may vary, always verify with your local DMV on your states requirements. If Gopuff needs these documents it will be requested during the application process.
